Ghost 1 Introduction A well guarded but secluded hotel contains one of the worlds most wanted terrorists, and your teams job is to eliminate him and anyone who stands in your way. Very few people know of you and your own Government requires deniability. Are you up to the challenge ? In the early 80's the British Government realised that in order to win against the terrorist, the crime lord, and the drug baron, the gloves had to come off. Cut-outs, as they were known, were taken on loan from the SAS, the SBS, and the intelligence establishment, to join a new clandestine organisation that would operate outside normality and beat them at their own game. Codename Ghost . Under the direct control of MI6, these were people who had already proven themselves under fire, would now be asked to step onto the frontline once again to remove evil from our society by whatever means necessary. Ghost 1, is a simulation of the kinds of missions that these people perform. You take the role of cut-outs beginning training to form Ghost Team 1. Your instructors will take you through safety and weapons drills, then you will begin to practice basic fire and movement, communications, unarmed combat, tradecraft, surveillance, ambush, infiltration, assault etc. before you go live. Equipment The aim is to simulate modern weaponry without breaking the law or putting anyone in danger. We use .68 paintball firing assault weapons, air/gas weapons and 8mm 9mm & .38 blank firing pistols. Flashbang grenades are used for room clearance and hostage rescue. Tactical communications are provided through personal radios. Uniforms and personal protective equipment are used. Scenarios You will be performing a wide variety of missions. Prisoner snatch, hostage rescue, infiltration, ambush, and assault. The Intel Team will brief you with as much information as is known including covert video and photographs, enemy strength and weaponry, and known obstacles. Your Control will present the plan and define the rules of engagement. Specialist training undertaken, equipment issued and tested before it's time to rock and roll. A detailed de-brief will follow including video footage of the action. Our aim is to provide as much authenticity as is possible. Where do you come in ? Ghost 1 is still in the planning stages. We have tested and selected some equipment and are actively looking for appropriate premises. The use of some land has been secured for training purposes but we need more ideas for premises, both blank firing and paintball. Derelict buildings would be the preference although anywhere would be considered and adapted. We are _base_d in the West Yorkshire area. We need more people who would like to actively be a part of our group. Buying their own equipment and training with us. We also need additional interested people who will act as enemy using equipment supplied by ourselves. Note - This is not a militia. We are a group of enthusiasts who enjoy a challenge and seek to better our knowledge of ourselves and our capabilities. We aim to keep the local Police fully informed of our activities and will operate within current legislation. The operation will be run in a professional and controlled manner depicting the subject matter. The point though is to have fun, learn, and enjoy ourselves. Interested ? Mail me -

An interesting concept, but overall, I think you'll find that the paintballers, in general, will not have much interest. Speaking in generalities, the milsim type crowd has more or less vacated the paintball fields in favor of the airsoft realm. While scenario games are still popular with paintballers, the CQB simulation type crowd has mostly left paintball to play airsoft. That said, a different business tactic to take would be to have a paintball field dedicated to unusual types of games rather than the standard acme elimination/capture the flag games. By avoiding the downtime of your training/planning regimen, and focussing on the game play, you would capture the attention of paintballers looking for a new experience. What I am suggesting is simply avoid the whole planning and debriefing stages and just simply play games focussed on things other than capture the flag. Drug Lord, Protect the Principal, Al Capone, Terminator, and so on, are all example games that can be played with very little planning by teams of p_layer_s. I think it would appeal to a wider crowd, and net you more profit.

Well, Jay, your professionalism as a well respected web designer comes out in posts such as these, and I'm sure he's going to be coming to get your assistance in the near future. I'm glad you think the original poster's idea is a good one. In my opinion, and it was noted as my opinion in my response to his post, it is not a viable business. After all, it would be really cool if we could play paintball in the Vomit Comet (NASA's weightless simulating aircraft), but I don't think such a venture would be profitable. In the same light, I don't think that the venture described would be profitable. Just this one man's opinion, but hey, I've only been playing the game for 15 years, what would I know.
